Make your holidays safer and ensure you check your christmas lights before putting on the tree.

• Keep all heat sources away from your tree.
• If you have a real tree, ensure you water it regularly – this will prevent it from drying out and burning so quickly if it catches light.
• Make sure there are no broken bulbs and no visible loose wires or degraded wire insulation
• Check you are using the right size fuse rating  for the lights
• Do not overload any sockets with adapters and plug extensions
• Turn off the Christmas lights when leaving the house or going to sleep
• Ensure Christmas decorations are kept away from the bulbs (etc. Paper decorations )
